Working women who make their careers compatible with maternity. With the maternity supplement in Retirement, Widowhood and Permanent Disability pensions, it is a matter of assessing not only their economic contributions, but also the demographic contribution to social security, essential for the continuity of the System. It consists of an additional percentage to the pension of 5 per 100 in the case of two children, 10 per 100 if there are three and 15 per 100 for four or more children.
That is, once the new pension has been calculated according to the calculation rules for each benefit, the corresponding percentage is applied depending on the number of children. The result will be the amount of the pension increased by moible number data that amount. The implementation of this measure is planned for retirement, widowhood and disability benefits caused as of January 1, 2016. The proposal responds to a demographic contribution that recognizes the efforts of working women with children in the form of an economic incentive that contributes to closing the gender gap when it comes to generating pensions. According to sources from the Ministry of Labor, women make up 46.4% of the contributors but their average careers (31.3 years) are lower than that of men (40.6 years). As a consequence, the average pension of the entire system for women is 38% lower.
